Green Day

Muritai School had a Green Day on the last day of Term 2. We dressed up in green or in anything to do with Gardening such as our favourite flower, plant or gardener and donated a gold coin. We raised $384 to help purchase some much needed gardening equipment for our friends in Nepal. We have been following the process of the new Shining Stars Home that has finally been finished. As you can see from the photos it looks great! Kate from Volunteer Services in Nepal even sent us proof of her and some of our friends at Brighter Future Home cutting the grass with scissors due to the lack of good gardening equipment! Well we can't have that - so a big effort was had by all to raise lots! We even raffled a jar of jellybeans. You had to guess how many were in the jar and the winner got to keep them all!
